How To Get A Firm Abdomen

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

It appears that we put lots of value on tight, ripped tummies. On a daily basis, advertisings promise in helping us “Get yourself a firm abdomen”, or “Get sculpted abs”. The things they will not tell us is that waist fat isn’t only ugly, it is really risky for your wellbeing.

Several research has discovered a link involving belly flab and blood pressure levels, high cholesterol, heart disease, and diabetes. Measure your stomach to see if you have a dangerous level of abdominal flab. For optimal well being, men needs to have a waistline circumference beneath 40 inches. Ladies must have a waist circumference under 35 inches.

Below are a few tested procedures to support you get a firm abdomen and reduce harmful stomach fat:

Move Far more, Consume Right

Physical exercise does not need to be done at a health club. You are able to burn off unhealthy calories while you take part in activities that you consider pleasing or satisfying. To illustrate, gardening burns several hundred unhealthy calories per hour. Team sports activities, like flag soccer, burn even more. Swimming is also a awesome fat-burner, and fun to boot. You could also do volunteer work, or just take long walks down nature trails.

Cardio exercise will kick your fat-burning metabolism into super speed. All it needs is determination; if it is easy to find an activity you prefer, and stick with it, the fat will disappear. It really is also important to vary your exercise for maximum calorie burning, and to remove monotony.

There are quite a few exercises you are able to do to get a firm belly. The American Council on Exercise did a study to find out which exercises targeted the abs most effectively. Their findings? Supine bicycle, captain’s chair leg lifts, and vertical leg crunches work the stomach muscles harder than any other workout. Twisting crunches and workout ball crunches were other good ones. Try doing those exercises a number of times a week to get a firm belly and whittle your waistline. An Internet search will turn up detailed step-by-step tutorials for each work out.

There are foods that can help you get a firm stomach, too. Sugary carbs contribute to tummy fat build-up, but foods high in protein and fiber are slenderizing. Look for a diet plan comprised mostly of complex carbs, lean protein sources, and unsaturated fats. South Beach is a classic example, and similar diets have come on the market in recent years.

Learn to Relax

Who have thought which you can get a firm stomach while you relax? It is possible with the help of yoga. Yoga has a two-fold effect on our bellies. First, it reduces high stress levels that lead to weight gain. Stress-induced weight gain often results in excess stomach fat. Reducing your stress level can give you a flatter stomach and lower your risk for many diseases.

Yoga exercises also tones the abdomen muscles. Look for a yoga workout that includes supine poses and other postures that work the abdominal muscles. Check out a yoga DVD from your local library, or look for free instructional videos online. You will be able to tell right away if a particular pose targets the abdomen area. To get a firm tummy faster, design your own program using the most effective belly-busting poses.

As you can see, it takes a little effort to get a firm stomach — but the benefits are well worth it.

Weight Loss Tips – Best Foods To Eat For Weight Loss

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Eating the right things is not just about avoiding high fat foods. Many foods have specific properties which will help you lose weight faster than other low calorie foods, due to properties such as increased appetite control, increased fat burning or even increased metabolism. The following are my best weight loss tips for the best foods to include in your diet to accelerate fat loss.

Nice Nuts – Nuts are traditionally avoided by dieters due to their high fat content. However, research suggests that it is not that straightforward. Despite their high fat content, nuts may in fact assist weight loss through other weight loss promoting properties. According to a review study published in the Journal of Nutrition (138:1741S-1745S, 2008), nuts are associated with a lower body fat. Also, when subjects add nuts to their diet, it did NOT cause weight gain Some research also found that it was easier for people to stick to a diet when nuts were in their meal plan. The researchers believe that nuts help fill you up (thanks to the fiber) and it’s possible that not all of the calories from nuts are absorbed into your body.

Eggstatic ABout Eggs! – Researchers from Louisiana State University in the U.S. looked at the eating habits of a group of overweight and obese women. The women, who were following a low-fat diet, were asked to eat either two eggs a day for breakfast, or have a bagel. The two meals contained the same number of calories and weighed roughly the same amount. However, after eight weeks of breakfasting, the slimmers who had eaten eggs had lost the most weight. As well as shedding 65 per cent more pounds than the bagel eaters, they had lost almost twice as many inches from their waistline. Previous research showed that those who ate eggs for breakfast felt fuller for longer than those who had a bagel and cheese. As a result, they ate less during the rest of the day. It is not completely clear why eggs are so good at making us feel full but it is thought their high protein content could play a large part. Researcher Dr Nikhil Dhurandhar, an obesity expert, said: “The resulting decrease in energy consumption lasted for at least 24 hours after the egg breakfast.”

The Magic of Mushrooms – In one study, volunteers who had mushrooms rather than meat, in four otherwise identical meals a week shed almost 13lbs (6kg) over five weeks, with one losing 1.5 stone (9.5kg). In another study, reported by ‘The Telegraph’, Margaret Hill, a 25-year-old mother-of-two from Dagenham in Essex, went from 13st 6lbs to 11st 1lb. “I was amazed by my weight loss – it’s the most I have ever managed to lose. I never thought I’d get my body back after I had my kids so I am over the moon. I look and feel fantastic,”. Mushrooms are a low energy-dense protein source. Their chewy texture and bulky nature and protein content mean that they fill you up, whilst providing very few calories, unlike meat, which has a much higher energy density. They are also cheaper to buy than meat.

Yes to Yogurt! – Researchers at the University of Tennessee, United States of America, found that obese adults, who ate three servings of fat-free yoghurt a day as part of a reduced calorie diet, lost 22 per cent more weight and 61 per cent more body fat than those who simply cut calories. Yoghurt eaters also lost 81 per cent more fat in the stomach area than non-yoghurt eaters. “Not only did yoghurt help the study participants lose more weight — the average weight loss was 14 pounds (6.8 kilos) — they were about twice as effective at maintaining lean muscle mass,” said lead researcher Michael Zemel. Yoghurt goes very well with meat based dishes, curries, chillis and casseroles. By adding yogurt to these often higher fat meals, you are reducing the overall fat density of the meal, meaning that by the time you are full, you will have consumed fewer calories.

Drink Your Milk! – In a recent study, australian scientists found overweight people who downed about 2 1/2 cups of skim milk in the morning consumed 8.5 percent fewer calories at an all-you-can-eat lunch spread than people who drank the same amount of fruit juice. This is due to the protein content of milk.

Eat More Beans – Scientists found that people who consumed beans were 23 percent less likely to have large waists than those who said they never ate them. Legumes are rich in belly-filling fiber, filling you up for very few calories.

Eat Your Apples! – Penn State researchers discovered that people who ate a large apple 15 minutes before lunch took in 187 fewer calories during lunch than those who didn’t snack beforehand. (The apples had around 128 calories.) They reported feeling fuller afterward, too. Apples are the best craving busters, when you are craving something sweet or just want to grab something , without having to prepare anything. Crunch down a couple of apples and there won’t be any room for such baddies as chocolate and crisps and you’ll find the craving has mercifully been banished.

These are my best weight loss tips for the best foods to include in your diet to speed up fat loss. If you follow only half of these tips, you won’t fail to notice a difference in the speed and amount of your weight loss and maybe for the first time, you may actually find that you are able to reach and maintain your weight loss goals with ease.

How Can I Lose Weight – And Lose It Forever

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

If you ask this question, how can I lose weight then following fad diets is not the solution if you are planning on keeping the weight off.

Fad diets have one thing in common, they are all diets.

A pair of bell-bottom pants, in today and out tomorrow. For a few years these diets are popular and then they are out of style. Then, what happens, after a while they come back like a vicious circle when the fitness professionals feel that we are ready to start up with them again. The one thing you should always avoid if you really want to burn fat is another fad diet.

A lot of of you will lose some weight at the beginning of these diets. So you get some weight loss initially, but you may also lose some muscle on these diets also. Your fat burning efforts and overall health could suffer if you lose muscle.

But the larger problem with these diets is that most us who adopt these outlandish diets gain the body fat back, and then some! Did this ever happen to you?

How can I keep the weight off in the long term, this is the key question.

One reason is the fad diets often advise focusing too much on one type of food, like non-carbohydrate foods (meat and dairy only) or only carbohydrate foods (fruits and vegetables only). These fad diets are really unhealthy and restrict the eating of a nutritionally balanced diet.

When you limit yourself in the variety of foods that you eat to one type then you are going to be depriving yourself of many essential vitamins and minerals. Your body requires certain vitamins and minerals and if you don’t get these vitamins and minerals it will lead to ill health and more health problems.

It is said that variety is the spice of life, and to have variety in the nourishing foods that we eat is also needed for good health.

Fad diets are too restrictive to be realistically followed, especially for a lengthy period of time. They are not only unhealthy but these diets are also very difficult to stay on because they take away many of our favorite foods. A rigid limited diet will prevent you from losing weight over a long period of time.

Behavioral changes in your eating habits is what will keep you on a pattern of weight loss and weight stabilization for the remainder of your life.

The very idea of this kind of fad diet just will not work. Why? Diets are based in a temporary mindset. Fad diets have a planned conclusion and then you will finish the diet This is temporarywhy force yourself to lose 10 pounds when you’re just going to gain it back and then even more when you go off of the diet?

That may sound simple, but most people just don’t understand. In an attempt to fix their weight and health issues many people turn to diets. But they’re not the answer, and they actually lead to more problems for you. Over an drawn-out period of time habitual dieters will not lose weight, but will have an increase in weight.

To answer the question how can I keep the weight off, it is important for you to seek life long fat burning, health and fitness in a lean body, you should take some tips from my mom, and probably your mom too.

My mom gave me the most significant nutritional advise of my life. For the most part, my mom was right. My mom didn’t have any knowledge about fat burning, but she fed me very nutritious foods while I was a growing boy.

I ate my share of healthy vegetables, including green ones, my mom made sure of that. She didn’t totally cut out sweets and fast foods, but she did not allow me to eat it too often or too much at once. During the day she would give me food from different food groups making sure that I got a good healthy balance from each group.

Thanks, Mom! Mom’s diet was really quite sound, and I’ve found that heeding some of this advice in the pursuit of maximum fat burning and a lean healthy body for the rest of your life is a smart way to go.

You see your body naturally craves foods rich in nutrients, (antioxidants, phyto nutrients (plant), fiber, vitamins, minerals, etc.) When you eat most of your meals from foods rich in important nutrients, your body will be satisfied and overeating will no longer be much of a problem.

When you give your body what it requires and needs to be healthy then you will naturally go into the fat burning stage. As a result you will be lowering your risk of disease by promoting a natural alkaline environment in your body when you eat these types of foods.

If you do the opposite and eat most of your meals from foods lacking in nutrients, you’ll keep eating and eating and eating to fulfill your nutrient needs. These are fast food, foods high in fat, high sugar foods, etc that are low in nutrition. This means you will be taking in too many calories.

Eating too many calories means you will continue to gain weight, get fatter and be more prone to developing diseases related to being overweight. Your body will have an acidic environment, which is an extra risk of disease when you gain weight and fat. You just will not burn fat under these conditions.

So nutrition for fat loss, fitness, and health in fact all do go hand in hand. My Fat Burning Furnace students have changed their lives permanently, by simply altering what they put in their bodiesand you can do it to.

establish an eating plan of foods high in nutrients. Next, I will define a plan that will aid you in transitioning from where you are now to where you want to be. This plan will have you burning calories 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

One of the fundamental keys to healthy eating is to eat a variety of foods from all of the food groups regularly and consistently.

Use Muscle To Burn Fat

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Did you know that the US is now one of the single most overweight nations in the world? The US is in the hot zone with over 30 percent of its people overweight. More people are misinformed about weight loss than ever before. There is a little secret that I want to let you in on: in order to have that model physique that you see in the magazines, you need MUSCLE. I don’t necessarily mean that you need huge, sleeve-stretching muscles, but you definitely need some muscle mass.

Muscles are like the metabolizers of fat in the human body. Most people that you see that have those rippled, sleek bodies have muscle. Have you ever heard the saying “the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn”? That statement is absolutely right. Many of the people with the lowest body fat compositions have a muscular composition. Even female models and actresses exercise to train their muscles. So if they do it, then you should too.

Besides, do you know how you would look if you lost most of the fat on your body and have no muscular mass? You would look frail and weak, have a horrible posture, and probably not be able to do certain activities. So muscles are very critical when it comes to fat loss.

Here are a few tips to help you with your muscle and fat problems:

- Consume protein: Your body needs protein to recover after exercise. Consume about 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight.

- Train with weights: Weight training is great for conditioning the muscles. Use free weights and machines as options when performing your weight training regiments.

- Perform about 15 – 45 minutes of cardio at least 3 times per week. This will help with the fat loss. It will also help with improving the health of your heart.

- Eat more frequently: Eat about six meals per day. This is great for keeping your insulin levels balanced for fat loss all day long.

- Eat natural foods: People who consume natural foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains have a better physical appearance and can eat more without adding extra calories.

- Be consistent: The power is in the consistency. Workout and diet hard and don’t stop until the job gets done.

Fat loss is not as difficult as it seems. Working and conditioning your muscles is a great way to help burn fat and keep it off. Train hard, diet hard, and be consistent. If you continue to do this, you will definitely begin to notice the fat melt away.

4 Easy Tips To Help You Lose Weight Fast

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Losing weight in this world is easy but it has to be done the right way to stay healthy. Many so called experts are giving bad advice all over the world. These 4 tips will make you lose weight quickly.

Weight Loss Tip 1 Over a few days add up your total calories your body takes in. Everyone is different so don’t pay attention to the numbers. Once you get an average of what your body takes in, start cutting back. If you are comfortable cutting out 250 calories to start out, great! If you can cut more that’s even better. It’s recommended to start out small and build yourself up to only taking in 1800 calories a day.

Weight Loss Tip 2 No Diet’s that starves you! There are easier ways to lose weight that does not require you to starve. Your body is not designed to eat 3 large meals a day. If you eat small amounts of food throughout the day you will take in less calories as apposed to eating 3 large meals a day. This will allow you to lose weight quickly.

Weight Loss Tip 3 Don’t eat more than your body needs to burn for energy. Here is an amazing fact, the stomach will take 25 minutes to send the signal to your brain it is full. That is why many over eat. Know when enough is enough. This ties in with small meals! Eating healthy snacks during the day is a healthy habit to do. Fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts are all great snacks that will keep you full but are low calorie foods.

Weight Loss Tip 4 Combine these healthy eating tips with exercise. It’s simple folks! If you eat more than your body burns it will be stored as fat. However if you follow tips 1-3 and exercise for 30 minutes a day, you will lose weight quickly. You cannot lose weight without exercising. Eating less will help for a little while but your body becomes use to the number of calories it is getting and then trains it’s self to burn that number of calories a day. So once it is use to that number of calories it stops burning extra calories and you stop losing weight. The key to all of these tips is to exercise daily to burn more calories than you take in.
