The Genes That Turns Carbs Into Fat
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009It is very good news that the genes that make carbohydrates into fat has been found or identified. This will help helpfully help everyone who is obese and people who really cares about their overall health. Especially people who wanted to get into weight loss programs or plans to lose some belly fats. Weight loss is one of the most seen common problem that leads people to illness and diabetes. And knowing these genes responsible for will immensely help everyone who are trying to do their best to lose weight and avoid the foods that has made them obese in the first place.
According th Reuters via the yahoo news rss feeds that I was reading, US researchers have found a gene responsible for turning a plate of pasta into fat, offering new clues about how the body metabolizes carbohydrates and how they contribute to obesity. The gene is called DNA-PK, appears to regulate the process in the liver that turns carbohydrates into into fat the University of California Berkeley team reported on Thursday in the journal Cell.
It would be of tremendously help if people know what are the possibilities of getting those genes or having those genes can lead to obesity. it may be a long way to get some medicinal drugs to combat these dreaded problem of obesity but this is a good start. Now that they have identified the genes it would be good if some of the drug makers are already in the process of making the magic pill for the prevention of obesity while eating foods such as pasta and the like.
These wee studies made from mice which are similar in nature o humans so it is very likely that drug makers will soon be making drugs that will block these genes. When will this drugs available would still be the big the question. But you can bet that drug makers will not sit on the laps and simply ignore this potentially high profit yielding and profitable soon to be drug.
